As it stands today, I am currently in the camp of hating standups. And I tend to think I'm largely a fairly optimistic person. Later on in the article I think you put it very well when you said it can depend on both who is the leader of the meeting and the mindset/approach that is taken during the meeting. I'm not sure if I've ever had an engineering manager lead a standup but maybe if they did I would hate it less.
